History of El Dorado Master Gardeners
The Master Gardener Program began in El Dorado County in 1981, just one year after the California program opened. We are proud to boast that we have one of the original California Master Gardeners who joined the Sacramento Master Gardeners in 1979 and transferred to El Dorado County the following year.
We currently have 160 Certified Master Gardeners volunteering their time to educate our community about home horticulture. We offer training for new volunteers every other year.
